- You can ask for your data to be deleted at any time by writing to mineramentebr@gmail.com.
Who is responsible
MineraMente is run from Brazil by Ingrid Calazans, Mining Engineer, who is responsible for the processing of the data described here. Contact for privacy matters: mineramentebr@gmail.com.
What data is processed and why
When you visit the site
The site is hosted by Vercel. As with any hosting service, in order to deliver pages and protect the site, the server receives technical data from each visit, such as your IP address and browser type. Fonts, images and search are served by MineraMente itself: search runs in your browser, and what you type is not sent to anyone.
Visit statistics (optional)
After you click "OK, got it" on the privacy notice, the site uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits and see which articles are read the most. According toVercel’s documentation, the tool does not use cookies, does not identify you and only records aggregate data, such as the page visited, referring site, approximate country or city, operating system, browser and device type. A visit is recognized by a code created from the request and discarded within 24 hours. Before you click "OK, got it", or if you turn statistics off in your preferences, this feature is not loaded.
Comments
When you comment, you send the name you choose and the text of your comment. They are stored, with the date, in an Upstash database connected to the Vercel hosting, and only appear on the site after being read and approved. To prevent spam, the sender’s IP address is recorded separately for at most1 hour, only to limit the number of submissions; it is not linked to the comment. Published comments remain on the site until you ask for their removal or they are removed by moderation.
Contact email
If you write to mineramentebr@gmail.com, your message and email address are kept in the MineraMente mailbox (Gmail, by Google) and are used only to reply to you.
Newsletter
The newsletter is not running yet, and the field in the footer does not send or store any email address. This policy will be updated before it starts.
Share buttons and external links
The share buttons only take you to WhatsApp, Facebook or LinkedIn when you click them; nothing is loaded from these networks before that. When you open an external link, such as an article’s sources, the privacy policy of the site you visit applies.
English and Spanish versions
Translated articles are hosted on MineraMente itself, at addresses starting with /en/ and /es/, and follow this same policy. When a page does not have its own translation yet, the EN and ES buttons open a version automatically translated by Google Translate, at translate.goog. Nothing from Google is loaded while you read on this site; if you open that automatic translation, Google’s privacy policy applies.
Cookie policy
MineraMente does not set cookies. The site only uses your browser’s local storage, which stays on your device and is not sent to any server:
| Name | Type | Purpose | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|
mineramente-consentimento | Necessary (local storage) | Remembers that you have seen the notice and whether statistics are on, so you are not asked again on every page. | Until you clear your browser data or change your choice. |
senha-moderacao | Necessary (session storage) | Used only in the comment moderation area, by the site administrator. | Until the tab is closed. |
The optional statistics described above also work without cookies. If the site starts using cookies or other tools, this policy will be updated and your consent will be requested again.
How to change your choice
The same button is in the footer of every page, under "Privacy preferences". You can also delete the site’s data in your browser settings.
Your rights
MineraMente follows Brazil’s General Data Protection Law (LGPD, Law No. 13,709/2018). Under it, you can request, among other things: confirmation that we process your data, access, correction, deletion and information about whom it is shared with. Just write to mineramentebr@gmail.com. If you are not satisfied with the answer, you can contact Brazil’s National Data Protection Authority (ANPD) or the data protection authority in your country.
Changes to this policy
When the site changes the way it handles data, this page will be updated, with the new date at the top.
